/Summer Solstice marks the first day of summer, and what better place to contemplate than in the middle of Times Square?
Life can be hectic. If you can find peace in this LED-induced madness, everything’s gonna be okay.
So there we were, Rachel and Stephane (friend and designer from cool women’s apparel line teverde.com) met up early, braved the crowd and broke a few rules to claim a prime spot in front of Father Duffy. We laughed as a jackhammer blared at the beginning of Ardha Padmasana (half-lotus pose) while an NYFD truck whizzed by.
Then suddenly I realized that I couldn’t hear the noises anymore. We sat still; breathing as one with 1200 people. I felt strangely serene. As we muttered “Namaste,” a beam of sunlight shone through the skyscrapers and thumped us with the first golden ray of summer.
Meanwhile, bw design Creative Director Brendan manifested a Press Pass, climbed 50 TKTS stairs and snagged a few kick-ass shots from up above Times Square. Om.
